Aster: A blooming star

"The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams"- Hinata Shoyo Stars. They shine brightly in the night sky, always twinkling away. People take on stargazing because they think stars are pretty to look at, some seek the stars for guidance, and scientists study them because of human curiousity. People can be stars too, they are the ones who have talent and smarts, they are people who others idolize, people who are stars are those who shine brightly. I always thought that I’d never will be one to shine brightly, I believed there are always those who will shine brighter than the rest. But an old friend of mine said that “I think all people can be stars, they just hadn’t found their light yet, like you, one day you’ll be a shining star, and I’d be there by your side, Aster”. My name is Cassandra Ysabel Lacuesta, and one day I’ll shine brightly like the rest. I was born on July 28th,2006 to my parents Pearl Anne Lacuesta and Nicanor Lacuesta Jr. Four years later my little sister was born, Alexandra Sophia Lacuesta. I am currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School in 10th grade. I will study hard in order to reach my dreams and live up to the name my friend gave me, Aster, which means “star” in Latin because one day I’ll shine bright.

 

I am what you call an ambivert which is a mix of an introvert and an extrovert, I like to meet new people but I get really shy and freeze up. I am childhood friends with Jan Marinette Vega whom I call Mari, she’s a very fun person to hang out with and will always be there to back you up.  I used to have other childhood friends but we grew distant, I only reconnected with a few and Mari was the only one I stayed close with. Fortunately I met other wonderful people whom I’m proud to call as my best friends or/and sworn siblings, Ezra Tan Frando, I like to call her Ez or Ezzy, she’s kind, funny and quite pleasant to hang around, she’s amazing at music and her singing voice always soothes me. Althea Paytoc or Thea, who’s really fun to tease because her reactions are funny but she a caring person and she makes sure we don’t get in trouble,she’s a bubbly person . Sharalindsay Cancio or Shara is quite tough and stern but she’s actually a sweet person and is quite shy. Yunos can be edgy sometimes but he’s cool and has great taste in dark humour, he’s fantastic in gore art and can be a great horror artist. Mraz is a chill person, they’re probably the most laid-back of the group, also they’re funny and makes me laugh.They’re the best friends I could ask for and I wish we could stay together till we’re adults, I hope that we are still friends till the day we die.I’ve mostly talk about my friends so let’s get back to talking about who am I, although Cassandra is my name, people rarely use that to refer to me, they’d call me Cassey, Cass, Rin, Sayuri or Aster. Cassey came from my name and is what people use, Rin is what my online friends call me, I don’t why they’d call me that but it’s a cute name, Sayuri is my persona when I make videos and post them in Youtube with my friends, I enjoy making short animations and post them on our shared channel, we currently amasses a following of 4k people, to others it’s not that much but it’s enough for us and we cherish every single fan of ours. Aster is a name that my old friend calls me, she’s alot older than me and she currently lives in Japan, she wanted to visit me but because of COVID, she just greets me online and makes sure I’m doing well, she gave me that nickname because she believed I can one day, become a star, and I will do my best to live up to that. My hobbies include art and is my talent, I still practice drawing and painting both digitally and traditionally, I was thinking of starting commissions which means people can pay me to draw or paint anything they want, I also play the piano and Violin, although I haven’t picked them up for a few months since I was busy with other things but I am learning the guitar. Up until now I still enjoy reading book preferably mystery but I do like romance novels from time to time. I also enjoy watching anime, reading manga and playing games, my favorite anime right now is Haikyuu while my favorite game is animal crossing, though I do not consider myself as the sporty time I did indulge in multiple sports, like tennis and soccer, currently I train in swimming and I am good at it, I haven’t been able to the because COVID decided to hit.  For my dreams, I’m not sure yet but I do hope I can find mine soon, although I wish to travel the world with my friends,maybe after that I’d like to start a family and become a mother, for my career I just follow what my parents wanted me to be, I am confused in which path I will take but I’ll make my decisions soon, although when I was younger I did want to be an astronaut.

 

One day, I’ll shine bright, one day I’ll become the person I want to be, life right now is confusing but I’d like to make it through, there’s going to be hardships and obstacles along the way but I know I can make it, because I have people to rely on. I am determined to live my life up to the fullest I’m going to be the best version of myself, one step at a time, because I’m Aster, a blooming star!
